Confirmed Rejection never Felt so Good

Hello, and welcome to the umpteenth valiant reboot of my blog! (I sometimes like to pretend there are actually people reading this, waiting with bated breath for another post.) As of right now, I have a little bit more free time than usual. Still working about thirty-two hours minimum a week, but I am not doing school right now. I’ve also restructured my writing career. I have carefully calculated and I have come to the conclusion that I will have just enough time to get into the swing of things before I start school back up in the fall, for things to become even more hectic when work becomes busier during tax season. Yep. That is how I do.

Three things, because when there are things there needs to be at least three of them.

First thing: I am delving heavily into editing right now. I used to try to write about a page of something random everyday but I am putting that energy mostly into editing right now. It has piled up, and I actually feel slightly more motivated to get to it than I have in the past.

Not only am I editing the book I wrote during Camp NaNoWriMo, The Magic Thief, I am also going to be making changes to Cycle. There was always one plot point that bothered me and I have now found a solution. Then I am also going to give the Once Upon a Fairy Tale series a good look through, particularly the second book. I am also researching making covers for these books. Since I am doing it more as a hobby right now and do not have the money to pay for professionals…yeah, I’m working on it.

P.S. I actually sent in a manuscript to a publishing company, Tor. It took longer than the six weeks they said were the maximum but I did eventually get a rejection letter from them. I was actually freaking out that I didn't even warrant a rejection letter so I was relieved when it finally came.

Second thing: Remember “A Thousand Days”? That thing where I was supposed to write a short entry every day for a thousand days? Remember how I spectacularly failed? Me too. I am sort of bringing it back. The similarities, I will attempt to write one short entry each day. The differences, it will not be for a specific time, and it will be called SnapShots. As in each entry is a “snap shot” of my day. I may change the name. I actually came up with that now. Other titles I am considering by coming up with them right this moment are “Daily Snippets,” “Quick Fix Post,” and “Short & Sour.” I think I’m liking “Quick Fix Posts,” the most here. If you have an opinion, comment below. (And when I say opinion I mean in reference to the title of my daily-ish post things. I don’t want long dissertations on your views about same-sex marriage, abortion, Iran, homeschoolers, and which political party is slightly less bad than the other.)

Third thing: I have in the pot, cooking, something new and maybe a little fun. It will be an online internet series called “The Middle of NoWhere.” In reality it isn’t “cooking.” I’m more just looking at the recipe and checking to see if I have all the ingredients and supplies I need. I dabble in plot outlining here and there, but in reality it will be at least a couple years before it may be a thing. It will be an experiment in fictionalized reality for me. I won’t post a whole lot about it, in case it is something I am going to drop, like most of my things, (I am a klutz) but I do want to wet your curiosity in case it does make like some film and develop.

Well then, until next time.
