Day four hundred
fifteen
December 22, 2013: Three/four
days (depending on how you count it) till Christmas, and it was slow at work
today. It does not matter what time of year, or time of day but Sunday is
always remarkably slow. The only exciting thing about work today was that I
have three days off after today.
Day four hundred
sixteen
December 23, 2013: When you
first start out it seems hopeless and dreary, and the moments and struggle seem
insignificant in light of how much there is still left to go. The distance
still left to cover seems too distant to take with any hope or heart. You
continue on, and with each inch behind you, it only makes the inches ahead seem
all the harder. You look back at the struggle behind, and wonder how you can
possible go the distance left, you have barely had the strength to come as far
has you have now. You will not make it, you desperately want to give up. But
then, if you push yourself long and hard enough, you will reach the halfway
point, and the distance you have covered becomes more than you have yet to go.
With each step, what you have accomplished seems greater and the future less
overwhelming. Then you see the end and you feel a rush, a strength to finish
strong, and you feel you could have lasted much longer. You are strong, your
endurance is great, and you do it, you accomplish it, and you realize that
despite how hard it was in the beginning, all that struggle and pain was worth
it……That was roughly my thought process while taking my forty minutes run this
morning.
