Switching it up

So, yea, it has been forever since I have blogged anything. Well, actually only a week, but apparently that is a really long time in the blog world. I will say the thirty day challenge was nice because I aways had something to post, when I actually got around to posting. My problem this week was not only not knowing what to post about, but not having time. My life is busy right now with getting ready to go to Latvia soon...mostly Latvia. I have something to blog about now.

For the past few years KatySue and I have shared a room. It was decided, randomly really, that we would move things between a few other rooms so KatySue and I could have our own rooms. So we moved. I stayed in the room KatySue and I had been sharing, while KatySue moved to a different room. The old sewing room.

First we had to move a bunch of books and furniture form the sewing room so KatySue could put her stuff in it. There were a lot of books. I did not so much mind the book shelves, the sewing table, the sewing machine, or the number of miscellaneous stuff we had to move, it was the books that got me. There were a lot of books. Dozens, over a hundred even. And what makes this even better? We had to move all of that stuff downstairs. Yep. Up and down the stairs I had to go to move dozens of books. Not only are they heavly, like really, really heavy, but they are awkward. I didn't think to snag any picture while we were doing this. I didn't think about that till later. Just for fun I began to count how many times I went up and down the stairs. 75 times. 75 times I went down those stairs, then 75 times I came back up. With 14 steps to the stair case, I actually went up more than a thousand steps yesterday.

So that is what we did for two straight hours.

Then began the process of moving our rooms around. This part took me 6 hours. KatySue mostly arranged the stuff in her room, while I mostly arranged the stuff in my room. I took this time when the room would be mostly gutted and I would be moving stuff around to deep clean it. That is why it took so long. I swear, I swept my floor more than a dozen times. I don't know where all the dust bunnies kept coming from, but man, were they angry.

Here is a bunch of random stuff hanging out on my bed.

KatySue and all her stuff in her new room.

KatySue posing and smiling while moving stuff out of our old room.

It all looks so...empty.
Here are some before and after pictures of my room. (I didn't think to take any of KatySue's room till after she had arranged it and stuff.)
