Day
one hundred thirty-eight
March 20,
2013: I finished Bleak House today.
It actually wasn't that bleak, even for a Dickens book. Now I'm going to start Good Omens. Back in Bend the library
would call you if you had a hold in. It was an automated voice, if they even
bothered calling you. Sometimes they didn't, and if they did they wouldn't say
who it was for, or what book it was, the message would only say someone at our
number had a hold in. Here at this library an actual person calls you, and
calls you personally, not just your
number, to tell you that you have a hold in, which book it is, and how much
longer they will hold it for you. In Bend you didn't have to talk on the phone
with a person, which in a way is better, but then again the voice of a real
person is much less annoying. Oh, and first day of spring everybody! I'm celebrating
by wearing a sweater.
