Day 117

Day one hundred seventeen
February 27, 2013: There have been strange dirty men in our house, due to our leaky plumbing, for so long. I just want them to never come back.

Day 116

Day one hundred sixteen
February 26, 2013: I have been re-reading through some of my old entries.  I'm so boring. I remember my great-grandfather (I think) kept this diary and we had a printed copy of it. Several times I tried to read it because all kids are supposed to be into their family history and stuff. The entries were usually about the weather. I would usually give up around entry twenty or something.

Day 115

Day one hundred fifteen
February 25, 2013: Credit apps. Stupid credit apps. Apparently, now, if you don't get a certain number of credit apps per month, you're hours will get cut. I just wish the obsession with the credit apps would stop. Really.

Day 114

Day one hundred fourteen
February 24, 2013: Lots of Church today.

Saturday, February 23, 2013

Day 113

Day one hundred thirteen
February 23, 2013: And another one bites the dust on Downton Abbey. This morning a broke the sacred vow of not exercising on Saturdays. I figured I was already working those days, wouldn't I rather sleep in on a day where I wasn't working? And I have only this final thing left to day. Egad, I can't believe I received an exclamation reward.

Day 112

Day one hundred twelve
February 22, 2013: Well, my entire family is mortified that I wrote about my panties yesterday.  My mum even gave me the "internet is forever" speech.

Thursday, February 21, 2013

Day 111

Day one hundred eleven
February 21, 2013: Pants, both Americana and English. For many years I made a promise to myself and the world that I would never own a pair of skinny jeans. One, because the image for "skinny jeans" that I had in my mind was the one where the girls would wear the low rise jeans that were far too tight. This caused for all fat, however little, to be pushed over the side of the jeans and spill out of the top. Not a flattering look on anyone. Two, at the time I simply didn't like how they looked on me. Now I own two pairs. Maybe I look good in them because I've lost some weight, or maybe it's because I finally tried on a pair that was a decent size. In addition, I also own two pairs of panties. Look, there's underwear, and then there are panties. Underwear is utilitarian, panties come in colorful colors and half the time don't even provide necessary coverage. Well the skinny jeans hit lower than my old underwear so obviously I needed lower profile undergarments.

Day 110

Day one hundred ten
February 20, 2013: Song of Solomon. Interesting stuff there. In-ter-est-ing stuff. I finished reading it today and I have to say that...well actually I have nothing to say.  And why is it always, that on my days off I do fewer productive things than on the days I work? Is it because I feel the freedom to procrastinate, or is it because I feel free days are special, and therefore I should not do anything important during them?

Day 109

Day one hundred nine
February 19, 2013: So over a week later and the leak is still being dealt with. The walls in Jacob's room have been torn off, we can't use any of the bathrooms upstairs, (that has been fun,) and a lot of the plumbing is going to have to be replaced. Apparently the plumbing wasn't installed correctly.

Monday, February 18, 2013

Day 108

Day one hundred eight
February 18, 2013: Work has added 1 to 7 shifts. I dislike them.

Sunday, February 17, 2013

Day 107

Day one hundred seven
February 17, 2013: I'm pretty sure, now that I think about it, already talked about time flying by in a previous entry. Oy vey I'm hardly even a tenth through and I'm already recycling old material. It is just so hard to be original in a world where everything has basically been done. I've talked about work about a gillion times as well. Why did I ever decide to do this? I have nothing significant to write! By the time I'm done with this I will probably be writing single sentence entries every day about the weather. When writing a story I'm as long winded as Dickens, but ask me to write something interesting about my own life and I begin to resemble a lobotomized chicken.

Day 106

Day one hundred six
February 16, 2013: Where did the day go? Today swept by so quickly. I didn't get around to all the things I wanted to do today. That's been happening more often it seems. I wonder if the days seem shorter merely because there are more things I'm trying to do in them, or if it really is some geographical fluke that causes the time stream continue to flux and compresses time.

Friday, February 15, 2013

Day 105

Day one hundred five
February 15, 2013: I'm closing today. Uhg. I don't like closing. On the up side, my new pants look much better than my old ones.

Thursday, February 14, 2013

Day 104

Day one hundred four
February 14, 2013: I am on a roll. Three days in a row I've gotten a credit app. All last week I asked nearly every single person and not a single app. This week I ask about half of the people. Today it wasn't even someone I asked who got one. It was someone who came up to the desk and asked to get one.

Wednesday, February 13, 2013

Day 103

Day one hundred three
February 13, 2013: Jewelry was really busy today in JCPenny. I wonder why.

Tuesday, February 12, 2013

Day 102

Day one hundred two
February 12, 2013: I got pants today. I have some really old pants from when I was thirteen that I had been wearing, but they were old, and not nice looking, and since I've lost weight I wanted a new pair. Also now that I've gotten into the hundreds spelling out the day name seems a little bulky. It's only going to get worse from here.

Monday, February 11, 2013

Day 101

Day one hundred one
February 11, 2013: So on Saturday the ceiling in Jacob's room began to drip. A pretty heavy stream too. The plumber isn't coming around until Wednesday, but the guy who's fixing the wall came by. Apparently there is also mold, from a different leak, in Jacob's room. It really seems to be one thing after another recently.

Sunday, February 10, 2013

Day 100

Day one hundred
February 10, 2013: Yes, oh, I do believe I wrote that correctly. Day one hundred. To think that it has been a hundred days of me writing short entries. Wow. Roughly one third of a year, one tenth of this journey.  And it even happens on a day that is 10.

Saturday, February 9, 2013

Day 99

Day ninety-nine
February 9, 2013: Things were crazy at work today. It was extremely busy. It was the busiest that I have ever seen JCPenny here, actually.  And I must have been mumbling today, or by some stroke of fate ended up helping all the deaf people. Ii can't begin to count the number of times I asked, "Will you be paying with cash or card?" and the person either said "Yes," or "No." The annoying thing though was that it was inconsistent as to what the yes and no meant. Yes could still mean paying with cash, or paying with card, the same for no. If the person was paying with a check, they would say, "I'll be paying with a check."

Friday, February 8, 2013

Day 98

Day ninety-eight
February 8, 2013: Colleen is still reading Son of Neptune, and I just finished reading The Enchantress. Whatever will I read now? Well, on the bright side I'm working tomorrow so she'll have most of tomorrow to finish it. The un-bright side is that I'm working tomorrow, and tomorrow is a Saturday. Bleh. I was enjoying my run of non-work filled Saturdays. My hands are kind of cold right now. That makes it hard to type.

Day 97

Day ninety-seven
February 7, 2013: Today at work, official people visited. They all climbed out of a big white van and invaded the store. There were at least a dozen of them They would stand in the middle of the walk way, talk for several moments in hushed voices, walk ten feet, and then repeat the process. They all ganged up on one of my co-workers. They surrounded her, like completely surrounded her. There she was, right in the middle of an official men sandwich. I couldn't hear what they were saying to her, but later she told me all they wanted to know was where the manager was. Why it took all of them to ask her I don't know.

Wednesday, February 6, 2013

Day 96

Day ninety-six
February 6, 2013: I have the house to myself right now. Everyone else is at small groups at church. I love having the house to myself. I don't really know why. It's not like I do anything that I don't normally do when there are other people here. I guess I'm just that anti-social. The cat, Bandit/Leo (yea, the neighbors call him Leo) will not stop meowing at me. I am considering throwing him outside.

Tuesday, February 5, 2013

Day 95

Day ninety-five
February 5, 2013: Everybody in this town already has a JCPenny credit card. Recently they have been really pushing the credit apps. All day I've been asking people if they want to apply for one, and the few who didn't already have one only ever use cash.

Monday, February 4, 2013

Day 94

Day ninety-four
February 4, 2013: I've restarted this entry five times already. I give up. You know, I really ought to stop using boring short entries. At this rate I'm going to run out of clever ways of saying I don't have anything to write before I've gone through a thousand days.

Sunday, February 3, 2013

Day 93

Day ninety-three
February 3, 2013: The ironic thing is that now that I'm in the south, where sports or supposedly such a huge thing, I've hardly even heard a peep about the super bowl. In the past it's been super bowl, super bowl, super bowl, super bowl, super bowl, super bowl, for almost a month. My family never really got into it, but those around us always did. Here, I didn't even realize it was super bowl Sunday until today.

Saturday, February 2, 2013

Day 92

Day ninety-two
February 2, 2013: SNOW! Finally. Yesterday and today there was finally snow. Snow that actually stuck to the ground and stayed. Sure, it melted by the time it hit mid-afternoon but the ground was white. There are two things that I miss more than any other about Oregon. Snow, and the lack of sales tax. Other than that everything is completely replaceable. Friends? I can get new ones. All the local theaters? Nashville is super close and whereas that won't be as cheap as the local theaters it is even better than Portland was for special trips to the "big city" close by. Restaurants? Mum cooks better food anyway.  Today we had a snow ball fight and Colleen even made an eight inch snowman.

Friday, February 1, 2013

Day 91

Day ninety-one
February 1, 2013: The Libby went ballistic at work today. It was working great until suddenly, 3 'o clock hit, and it started acting weird. It didn't freeze exactly, but it wouldn't leave the current page, and then the back part started beeping randomly. The Libby had been working so well for me the past several times I had used it. And I use it, a lot. I get one every single time I work. No exceptions, ever. As we get more and more though that isn't such an odd thing.
