Day Nine~A photo you took

I took this pic while I was in Latvia this summer. I could have picked one of the old buildings, or one of the things that all turoust take pictures of, but this was a truly HUGE bug. And I am very proud of myself that I didn't fling it away considering I found it by it crawling on my foot. It had moved to the grass by the time I took the photo.

Day Eight~A thank you letter to someone who changed your life

Dear someone,
Sometimes I look back and wonder if it was worth it at all. The pain that it caused both of us, still does at times. Yet I know the pain is much worse for you than it ever could be for me. You sacrificed so much more, gave more, dedicated more than I ever could, yet I know you would never turn your back on me or our relationship. Every moments has been effected by your presence. Sometimes I forget what it is to know you, and I loose sight of what we have, yet every time I hurt you, every time I betray you, you are always there waiting for me to come back. Not only are you waiting, but you reach for me, calling me back every time I go. I could never thank you enough for the life you have given me.
Thank you Lord.

Day Seven~Five things you couldn't possibly live without

Five things I couldn't possibly live without. Mmmm...oxygen. Oxygen is very important.

Water. I could also not live without water.

Sleeping is also very important. Did you know that you would die sooner without sleep than without food?

Okay, okay, enough of that. I know that isn't what was meant by five things I couldn't live without. It meant five things that I liked so much it would be hard to cope without them. Not because I physically need them, but because I love them.  I had you going there for a moment. You actually thought I was being literal and listing five things I couldn't physically live without. The sad thing is I don't find that too unlikely.

Here we go, this is the real list for today's challenge.

Books! I could not live without books. My mind would shrivel up and I would literally die. So books would have worked for the previous list then.

Another thing I couldn't "live" without is the computer. I  include monitor, internet, and everything that goes along with the computer when I say "computer." Just the computer would be a useless box to me.

A third thing I couldn't live without is hand work. Once again, I mean it in a general sense. Hand work includes, crocheting, knitting, sewing (on a sewing machine included,) and beading.

Fourth but certainly not last,  is writing. It is a verb, and in some cases an abstract noun, but I still couldn't live without it. As you already know, I love to write. Poems, stories, ramblings about my life, useless captions to photos...

The fifth thing I could not possibly live without (metaphorically at least,) is... da da da da DA DAAAAA...
friends and family.  Yes I know, technically it is two things, but hey, cut me some slack. You should be impressed I got this close to five.

Day Six~A moment you wish you could relive

Now, I have been thinking about this one since before I started the whole thirty day thing. Honestly, I can't think of anything. Whether you take it to mean something in your past you want to change, or a moment that was simply so perfect you want to experience that feeling again, I draw a blank. Don't get me wrong, there are certainly moments I would have rather lived differently, but those mistakes made me learn things the hard way, and even though the hard way is hard, it really is the quickest way. With the happy moments, I don't know, I certainly have had more than my fair share of wonderful moments, but for some reason I don't want to go back and relive any of them. One of the reasons wonderful moments are so wonderful is because you know you can't go back to them, so you cherish them all the more. (No KatySue I am not copying you!) Sooo, I am going to do something just a little different.

Now, this is extremely petty, but if I had to pick a moment, like if someone was holding a gun up to my head and would pull the trigger unless a picked a moment, I would probably pick a day a few hours before I got into an argument with my friend. We were auguring about what someone had said, and I eventually let the argument go and let my friend think she was right, because I realized what we were arguing about was extremely stupid. I still thought I was right though, and for several years thought I was right. One day, I suddenly realized I still thought I was right, even though I couldn't remember what it was we thought this person had said, (it was some guy from a cooking show.) I want to go back to the time of the cooking show, to see what the guy had said, and if I am being honest, to see if I had been right.

Day Five~A Favorite Quote

Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak out and remove all doubt.
~Abraham Lincoln
I like this one because it pertains to me.

Day Four~A Favorite Television Program

I know that if KatySue is reading this right now, she is thinking "copy cat." What can I say, Pushing Daises is a good show, and I love it. Besides, she used a different picture.

Since Pushing Dasies has already been used, I am allowed to pick another show. For it to count, it has to be one KatySue doesn't even remotely like, So Stargate SG-1 it is. At least I don't think she likes that show.

Day Three~A Favorite Book

Being a total book geek this one was really hard for me. There were about a billion "favorite" books for me to choose from. (No, I am not exaggerating.) I eventually decided  on Inkheart by Cornnella Funke  because it combines several of the things I look for in a book. Original idea, well drawn and believable characters, well paced and interesting plot. Last but not least, it is a "realistic" fantasy. Most people would consider that an oxymoron, but it is possible when the author takes all the elements that make up a book and uses them in a very believable way. From the way the characters act, to the way the plot moves, those things make the concept of magic more believable if they themselves are believable. As well as all those things, the book is simply enjoyable. I love to read it with a cup of coco on a cold winter's night, as a good summer read, or any time of the year.

Day Two~A Favorite Movie

What can I say, it's a classic. The only people I have met that don't like this movie are depressing and boring. It has sword fighting, giants, one man beating impossible odds, true love, beautiful settings, ominous settings, beautiful damsels, funny side kicks, I could go on and on. I typically don't like fairy tales, especially ones you could call cliché, but The Princess Bride makes fun of fairy tales just enough to get away with it.

There was another movie I considered posting, but I decided to save it for the movie no one would expect me to like.

Day One~A Favorite Song

I know it is a slightly depressing song to pick, and while I have never had the whole, he broke up with me scenario, most terrible things that have happened to me have happened in the same kind of way. Regular day, non important setting, bam! my life is wrecked and the rest of the world goes on like what has happened to me doesn't matter. Not only do I love the song, and think the music video beauticul, but I love the message and the sentiment, which is rare for a song for me.
Also I couldn't upload the other songs I had in mind.

30 Days

So, I've been thinking, I would like to do more on my blog than just post poems and stories. Inspiration for that kind of thing comes and goes, and while a have a story in the process, who knows when I will finish it. To make it feel like I am actually doing something with my blog, I will follow a list, (which is posted below) and post one thing a day. It may take longer than the said 30 days. I may forget to do it one day or life might get to busy.
No, I didn't come up with it, I saw it on my sister's blog, who saw it on other people's blogs.
