Day two hundred seventy-one
July 31, 2013: Writing this post with an iPod because the laptop my dad lent to me does not let me write blogger posts for some reason and I forgot to do it before I left for work. And I think this make for the first entry that exposes that I write the entries on Blogger first and then write them down in a journal.

Day 270
Day two hundred seventy
July 30, 2013: I finally got a refund from my defective laptop, so I ordered a new one today. I am hoping this one doesn't freak out one me like the other ones did. The one I got today was a little bit more bit it got better reviews.

Day 268 and 269
Day two hundred sixty-eight
July 28, 2013: Went to see Monsters University today.
Day two hundred sixty-nine
July 29, 2013: I just realized that I didn't not touch the computer yesterday. Not at all. It used to be I would at least spend an hour, usually more on it, but I didn't even check my e-mail yesterday. When my laptop first died all I could think about was how dependent I was on it. Perhaps a bit too dependent at times. I really will need it once I start school, but I realized I didn't need it as much as I thought.

Lots of days.
I let A Thousand Days build up a bit.
Day two hundred fifty-four
July 13, 2013: Things I learned this week:
Always back up your files no matter what.
Lucid dreaming is awesome.
Day two hundred fifty-five
July 14, 2013: Bought an adapter so that I can recover my hard drive from my old laptop, and I am still cruising the internet for a good refurbished on.
Day two hundred fifty-six
July 15, 2013: It's going to almost be non-stop work starting about 3:35 today until Wednesday morning. I am closing tonight, opening tomorrow, and I begin my second job tomorrow night. Not that my second job is anything to sneeze at. Really it's more of a dream job. I am being paid to sleep.
Day two hundred fifty-seven
July 16, 2013: I am writing my entry really early in the morning, just so I don't forget to do it later on. Wish me luck, this will be my first night on the second job.
Day two hundred fifty-eight
July 17, 2013: I am doing this while at the house of my second job, and it is night number two. Fun stuff. It took me a while to fall asleep last night, and I'm not sure why. I wasn't uncomfortable, and I was tired enough. Maybe it was just because I was unused to it. Anyway, there are cats, and they are both very large and wobbly.
Day two hundred fifty-nine
July 18, 2013: Got my new laptop today. I would be writing today's entry on it but it is still configuring after about a bajillion upgrades and stuff. The screen is tiny, but that is a small sacrifice to make for the price and still having the rest of the lap top in good condition.
Day two hundred sixty
June 19, 2013: Never mind about the whole I have a laptop thing. I am having to return the one I just got because it will never go to the log in page. It just says I have a media test failure. So the laptop saga continues.
Day two hundred sixty-
July 20, 2013: Things I leaned this week:
When you let something build up, it's hard to decided when to stop.
I have a tech curse. Seriously. Electronics tend to die for no reason around me.
Dave Ramsey is the soul person responsible for making it so hard to get a credit app.
A travesty is not something tragic, but something that is a debased mockery of something else.
Day two hundred sixty-one
July 21, 2013: Good gracious Tim Curry has gotten fat. A few days ago I saw him in Clue, and today I watched The Secret of Moon Acre, and the contrast is amazing.
Day two hundred sixty-two
July 22, 2013: So apparently this library doesn't have the entire Wheel of Time series, and I'll have to ask a librarian to order it from a different branch. I don't want to do that. The librarians here are a little cranky.
Day two hundred sixty-three
July 23, 2013: I can't think of anything to say. Work is fine, but I would rather something in my major. The sky, ceiling, and my IQ is up. I start school on August 18th. Same old, same old.
Day two hundred sixty-four
July 24, 2013: There is a surrealist in my bedroom painting melting goats on my rounded walls. I have eaten lumpy lemons. This afternoon I was grumping (not a real word by the way) because I have run out of book from the library to read, and to get the next book in the Wheel of Time series I need to go to Mt. Pleasant and pick it up from there. Then I realized I basically had a library in my bedroom, with a couple books I haven't even read yet, and why did I have a library in my bedroom if not to read books from it. So I took of my pity party panties and selected a book from one of my own shelve. Stranger in a Strange Land (the original uncut edition to boot). A book I have had for a couple years, but only got about half way through. The first time a gave it a go there were some books from the library I wanted to get through before sending them back so I put SSL aside for a bit, but then for some reason never returned to it.
Day two hundred sixty-five
July 25, 2013: >:-(
Day two hundred sixty-six
July 26, 2013: Went to Mt. Pleasant today and got The Dragon Reborn.
When in doubt...emoticons.
The things you are the most eager to get to are the things you are sad to see go.
I kill electronics.

Day 252
Day two hundred fifty-two
July 11, 2013: Colleen is looking over my shoulder while I write this. It is making me very nervouse. Now she went back to reading her book.
Laptop Tragedy
Right now I am writing this blog post from my dad's laptop. Why? Why am I using my dad's laptop when I have a perfectly good one of my own? Because mine is dead. Yep, kaput, no more, dead. My laptop, which I've had for about two years now, broke on Tuesday. There was no warning, no time of slowly dying. I never limped along, having to jump through hoops just to make it work. I was always very careful, never jarred it, or jerked it, or went to sketchy websites. It didn't have any viruses, everything still operated quickly and smoothly. It simply died, stopped working, and when ever it was turned on the only screen it would go to was this.
My dad looked at it and basically said that there wasn't really anything we could do at this point. We can still retrieve the information from the hard drive, for which I am thankful. I have been remiss on backing up my files recently so yeah, I was freaking out at first that I had lost all of my stuff. Now that I know I haven't lost that stuff, the relief I felt from that made me seem rather calm about my laptop dying.
As I am notoriously cheep, typically I would wait and just keep using my dad's, but I will be starting school soon and I really do need a laptop if I am going to do that, especially since it is online. So I am scouring the Internet, (on my dad's laptop) for a refurbished laptop. I'm hoping to snag one for only a couple hundred dollars.
So what have I been doing during my days with now laptop of my own? What have I been filling my time with that I usually spend editing, working on novels and essays and looking at pictures on Pinterest? Well, I have been spending less time on computers just because I didn't feel like it. So I have been doing all sorts of things.
Playing Munchins. I won both times.
Reading books by Oliver Pötzsch. Warning, these books are not for the faint of heart or week of stomach. Let me put it this way, the books are murder mysteries, set in the 16 hundreds, and the main character is a hangman.
And wrapping Colleen's birthday present. I would show a picture here, but that might ruin the surprise.
Now that I think about it, I'm still pretty frustrated that my laptop died. I babied that thing. I treated it like it was rare and temperamental plant that was the answer to societies problems which was from some far off, probably sunk, island. I know of a few people (I never mentioned my sister Katy) who do not baby their laptops like that, and yet theirs is still doing fine.

Day 250 and 251
Day two hundred fifty
July 10, 2013: My computer broke today, I am very unhappy. I don't know what happened, it just stopped working. I don't want to talk about it.
Day two hundred fifty-one
July 11, 2013: I decided to make today's entry a bit more positive than yesterday's. Today, while making the kids mac and cheese for lunch, the easy open punch thing on the top actually opened easily for me today! Usually that corner just ends up all crunched because I've pushed against it and it never opens, and yet I always try to use it. Today though, I pressed against it, and it worked. In all honesty, it wasn't any easier than opening the box by the top flap things, but the easy open thing has never worked at all.

Day 249
Day two hundred
forty-nine
July 8, 2013: Guess who won a
$10,000 scholarship!!!! That's right! Not me! Seriously though, I'm not sure if
I have said this before but I will be staring up school mid-August. I am
excited, nervous, and sad. On one hand I will finally be starting college so I
can have a career, on the other hand, school work. Sometimes I think about the
two years I basically wasted up to this point and feel like it will be forever
until I will actually "start" my adult life. I just hope those two
years will pay off as without those two years I probably would not have
selected a major with such thought and would still be studying English right
now.

Day 247
Day two hundred
forty-seven
July 6, 2013: Things I learned
this week:
Anywho is not a word.
JCPenney will start having a stricter
dress code, but apparently the opinion of how strict goes from only white and
black professional wear to what it is now except no jeans.
When the packaging of a fire
work says it shoots flaming balls into the air, it doesn't kid.
That I have no idea what
"the first one's a doozy" actually means.
Friday, July 5, 2013
Day 246
Day two hundred
forty-six
July 5, 2013: It rained
basically all yesterday, so the fireworks at the park were cancelled, which was
kind of a bummer. The cool thing is that many fireworks which were illegal in
Oregon are legal here. You know, mortars, roman candles, anything that shoot
fire higher than two feet into the air.
Wednesday, July 3, 2013
Day 244
Day two hundred
forty-for
July 3, 2013: If you asked me
what I did today, I would have to tell you nothing if I wanted to be honest. I
can't even remember doing "wasting my time" things, like watching
shows, or reading, or Pinterest, or talking. It's just, time went by and I
never did anything with that time. Anywho, (I don't care Word, Anywho should be
a word,) happy birthday Jacob?
Tuesday, July 2, 2013
Day 243
Day two hundred
forty-three
July 2, 2013: After five days
in a row off, work is a dark stain that I am not looking forward to, but in two
hours I must put on my work shoes and head off. Not that my work shoes are any
different from my regular shoes, in fact, they are my regular shoes. Also
Megan's visiting again for the 4th
Monday, July 1, 2013
Day 242
Day two hundred
forty-two
July 1, 2013: And Summer is
already a third over. Though since I will be starting school again mid-August,
it is even more than a third over for me. I used to have far too much time on
my hands. I can't believe how hard I am finding it to find time to do all of
the useless things, such as writing and reading and crafting and making up
worlds and other things that I don't have as much time for. It isn't even like
I can live for the weekends either. I work most weekends.
